Holiday closings

Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Because of the holiday:

Mail will not be delivered.

Parking meters in Columbus will be free.

City, county, state and federal offices will be closed.

The Columbus Metropolit­an Library’s Main Library and these library branches will be open: Dublin, Gahanna, Hilliard, Hilltop, Karl Road, New Albany, Reynoldsbu­rg, Southeast and Whetstone.

There will be no trash collection in Columbus. The trash-color collection schedule will rotate one weekday forward until the next holiday, which is Presidents Day on Feb. 16.

Rumpke curbside recycling and yard-waste collection for the city of Columbus will be delayed by one day. Friday’s collection will be on Saturday. Regular collection will resume the week of Jan. 26.

Columbus City Schools and most other districts will be closed.

Columbus State Community College and Ohio State University will be closed.

Streets will be closed briefly between about 4:45 and 5:30 p.m. Monday because of the annual march beginning at the King Arts Complex, 867 Mount Vernon Ave. The route: south on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to E. Spring Street, west on Spring to Lester Drive, south on Lester to E. Long Street, east on Long to the Lincoln Theatre, 769 E. Long St.
