CRIME STOPPERS

Two women pushed the shopping cart loaded with $239 in energy drinks and wine to the parking lot at the Kroger in the Brewery District.

But they had not paid for a drop.

As part of Central Ohio Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week, police hope someone recognizes the two women captured by surveillance cameras just before 3 p.m. on April 23.

Store employees followed the pair in the parking lot at 150 W. Sycamore St. A store manager managed to wrestle the cart away, but a security officer was struck in the throat and sternum by one of the women as he tried to hold her until police arrived.

“If you don’t let my friend go, I’m going to stick you,” one of the women said as she held a knife.

The women got into a black Chevy Impala and left.

The first woman is described as a black woman with a dark complexion in her early 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a heavy build. She wore her hair in a bun and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a green shirt with “Good Vibes” on the front, a white outer shirt and black boots.

The second woman is described as a black woman, also in her 20s, who is about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build. She also wore her hair in a bun and was last seen wearing a head band, black puffy coat and dark pants.

A reward is being offered to anyone who might have information leading to the arrest or indictment of the two women. Tipsters remain anonymous.

Anyone with information can call 614-461-TIPS (8477), submit a tip online at stopcrime.org or download the app P3 Tips to submit a tip.
