This year’s festival will feature music-making at the Columbus Museum of Art and galleries in the Short North, plus an encore at Hot Chicken Takeover. Seventeen guest musicians are set to perform.

“We really want to curate complete experiences,” said Kim, 28, who lives in New York, “and those that are tailored to the 614, essentially.”

Thursday’s concert at the museum’s Derby Court will include “Clarinet Quintet” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and “Verklarte Nacht” by Arnold Schoenberg; the festival’s organizers see a bit of each other in the worldfamous composers.

“Once you’re playing a Mozart piece, it’s just a spiritual experience that’s very fun on the one hand but also very deep,” Stulz said. “It just reminds me a lot about going in (and) having a beer with Siwoo.”

Meanwhile, Stulz said that Schoenberg’s music is “very well thought-out ... but that is still always rooted in an intense emotional experience.”

Friday’s “Beer and Beethoven” concert at Hot Chicken Takeover will feature a repertoire chosen by the musicians, plus brews for sale from Barrel & Bottle. The program will include a piece by Mozart, but, despite its title, Beethoven’s presence is not assured.

“We were thinking ‘Martinis and Mozart’? ‘Mojito and Mozart’?” Kim said. “‘Beer and Beethoven’ was far better.”

On Saturday, musicians — including those from area organizations — will provide accompaniment to the Gallery Hop in the Short North, with performances at five galleries: BrandtRoberts Galleries, the Pizzuti Collection, pm gallery, Sherrie Gallerie and Studios on High.

The festival will conclude Sunday in the museum’s Cardinal Health Auditorium. In addition to a sextet by Richard Strauss and a trio by Francis Poulenc, the program will feature additional pieces by Mozart (“Divertimento”) and Schoenberg (“Chamber Symphony No. 1”).

Kim and Stulz founded the festival in 2015; concerts were initially held at the Garden Theater before expanding to multiple venues the following year.

“The idea all along was to create something that would bring us back to Columbus every single year for our careers,” Stulz said. “We’re really trying to grow it in a way that will allow us to do that.”
