Tax bill bad for Puerto Rico
Kick ’em when they’re down. That’s what a provision in the proposed House tax plan would do to Puerto Rico. It would impose a 20 percent tax on goods made in Puerto Rico and shipped to the U.S. mainland. It would effectively kill manufacturing on the island nation devastated by hurricanes and in desperate need of economic recovery.
Is this how the Trump administration gets back at Puerto Rico, whose people are United States citizens, for needing our assistance? How heartless can you get?
