No. 1 Duke uses late run to pull away from Indiana

BLOOMINGTO­N, Ind. — Marvin Bagley III finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds and Grayson Allen added 21 points to help No. 1 Duke get past pesky Indiana 91-81 on Wednesday night in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

It sure wasn’t easy for the Blue Devils (9-0), who needed a late 17-4 spurt to finally pull away for their first true road win of the season. Wendell Carter Jr. had 18 points and 12 rebounds. in 27 minutes and Bruce Brown Jr. added 16 points and nine rebounds to help Miami (6-0) beat host Minnesota (7-1) in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Omer Yurtseven had 19 points and 11 rebounds, and host North Carolina State (6-2) held on to beat Penn State (6-2) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Auburn (5-1) passed its first true road test of the season in convincing fashion, beating Dayton (3-3) and snapping the Flyers’ 16-game home win streak. Dayton finished with 19 turnovers, and team captain Josh Cunningham fouled out with just six points. Dominican (4-2) routed Wright State-Lake (1-8). The Panthers shot 65 percent from the field in the first half and led 61-15 at halftime. Matt Doyle and Claude Chandonnet each scored 18 points to lead host Denison (4-2, 1-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) past Wooster (3-2, 1-1). Jordan Harris made a three-pointer with 1 second left to give host Adrian (2-1) a victory over Capital (2-2). The Crusaders tied it at 52 on Austin Schreck’s layup with 3 seconds left. Joey Weingartne­r led Capital with 18 points.

No. 6-ranked Marietta (5-0, 1-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) raced to a 51-24 halftime lead and cruised to win over host Otterbein (0-6, 0-1). Justin Carter led Otterbein with 20 points.

Women

Arike Ogunbowale scored 20 of her 32 points in the first half, and Notre Dame (7-0) cruised to a victory over host Michigan (4-2). Notre Dame held Michigan standout Katelynn Flaherty to 13 points, her first game under 20 points this season.
