Norris paces Bradley to OT win over Darby

In only his third game back from a broken foot, Braden Norris scored nine of his season-high 29 points in overtime to help visiting Hilliard Bradley edge Hilliard Darby 55-52 in an Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Norris went 20 of 21 at the free-throw line, with six coming in OT. His three-pointer with 13 seconds left in overtime gave the Jaguars (19-1, 9-0) the lead for good.

Chandler Barlow and Jaeln Benjamin scored 11 points each for Darby (12-9, 6-4), which was outscored 27-9 at the foul line. (12-8) sank 14 of 16 free throws in the fourth quarter and handed state-ranked Pickeringt­on North (17-4) its second straight defeat in a nonleague game. Joey Pickering had 14 points for the Celtics, who made only field goal in the final period. Jerome Hunter led North with 15 points.

Host Columbus Academy (17-3) opened overtime on an 8-0 run and went on to defeat Watkins Memorial (1010) in nonleague play to snap a three-game losing streak. Dorrian Moultrie led the Vikings with 23 points. Reese McNeely (18 points) and Caleb Packard (16) paced Watkins.

Dylan Edens hit a three-point shot from the corner as time expired, giving host Westervill­e Central (14-7) a nonleague win over Licking Heights (10-10). Thomas Hickman, who paced the balanced Warhawks with 13 points, handed out the assist on Edens' game-winner. Matthew Dugue topped Heights with 14 points. Michael White (21 points) and Justin ShipmanCur­tis (19) paved the way as East (13-6) won a nonleague game at New Albany (6-15). Jalin Jackson had 21 points for the Eagles, who pulled no closer than six in the second half.

Host South (18-4) sank 15 of 17 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off Linden (11-9) in a nonleague game. Marcus Johnson had 14 points and six rebounds to pace South, which saw its 14-point halftime deficit erased. The second half went back and forth until the final minute when the Bulldogs pulled away.

Girls

Andi English scored 14 of her season-high 31 points in the third quarter as host Granville Christian (15-7, 11-1) won the MidOhio Christian Athletic League with a win over co-leader Shekinah Christian (17-5, 10-2). English, who went 13 of 21 from the field, also grabbed 13 rebounds. Payton Hartshorn added 16 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. Kloe Yutzy (21 points) and Mandi Scheffel (17) led the way for Shekinah. Alex Evans made two free throws in the final seconds to lift host Worthingto­n Christian (13-9) over Johnstown (4-17) in nonleague play. Emma Linehan had 13 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Warriors.

Dani Hall scored 19 points, leading host Ready (11-9) over Bexley (16-6) in a nonleague game.
