Wisconsin upsets struggling Purdue
MADISON, Wis. — Ethan Happ had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Wisconsin secured its biggest win of a challenging season, beating No. 6 Purdue 57-53 in Big Ten play on Thursday night.
Brad Davison added 16 points for the Badgers (1216, 5-10), who handed the Boilermakers (23-5, 12-3) their third straight loss.
Carsen Edwards, who finished with 22 points, missed a three-point try with 12 seconds left to end Purdue’s comeback hopes. Wisconsin’s Brevin Pritzl hit 3 of 4 free throws over the final 19 seconds to seal a win that had fans rushing the court after the final buzzer.
The Boilermakers had seemingly overcome early offensive hiccups after a 10-0 run gave them a 39-32 lead with 9:37 left when Wisconsin answered with aggressive play sparked by Davison.

Arizona clawed its way back and the rivals traded baskets until the Wildcats scored seven straight points to go up 70-63 with 90 seconds left. Tra Holder had 20 points for Arizona State.
Women
Dominique Oden made two straight three-pointers late in the game, and Purdue (17-10, 8-5 Big Ten) shocked host Maryland (22-4, 11-2) to end the Terrapins’ sevengame winning streak. The loss dropped Maryland’s conference lead over Ohio State and Nebraska to one game with three to play.
