with new lyrics to rapper Drake’s “Nice For What.” The lyrics focus on the benefits of becoming an officer with the city.

Officer Wil James hit on the idea while listening to the song, and he developed the modified lyrics over about two days, he said. James said he freestyle-raps when he’s out with friends, but some of his colleagues were surprised when he presented them with the lyrics and the idea.

The video was recorded in about three hours on July 19 with help from DreadHead Films, a local filmmaking business.

In a Facebook post late last week, the sheriff’s office brought the turn signal back into the spotlight.

Describing the signal as a “strange object sticking out from your steering wheel,” the sheriff’s office said this “relic from a lost civilization” has a purpose.

“Legend tells us that once upon a time this mysterious stick was used by sane people to signal their direction of travel,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
