Tax issue likely for health district
The Pickaway County General Health District plans to ask voters to approve a property-tax levy to help support and expand its programs.
The district’s Advisory Council — made up of representatives from the county’s 15 townships, eight villages and the city of Circleville — voted 9-7 Thursday night to seek a 0.5-mill levy, most likely in the November election. But the Pickaway County Board of Commissioners must first officially approve putting the issue before voters.
The decision comes after a few years of wrangling over how to best fund the combined health district.
