Forecasts for US home prices see lower gains

This year, increases in U.S. home prices will slow slightly, according to several real-estate research firms, including Corelogic and Zillow Research.

Corelogic projects an average price increase of 4.8 percent during the 12 months through November 2019.

The average U.S. home price rose

5.1 percent in the 12 months ending in November 2018, according to Corelogic numbers. Ohio home prices rose by an average of 6 percent during that time, the firm reported.

Rising homemortgage rates are at the root of the slowdown, according to Corelogic.

Zillow Research predicts 30-year fixed-rate mortgages will hit 5.8 percent in 2019, a rate not seen since 2008. HGTV plans fall show for ‘Brady Bunch’ home

Here’s the story of a lovely sitcom house.

Real-estate site Toptenreal Estatedeals.com reports that “The Brady Bunch" house sold in August after a bidding war between HGTV and former “NSYNC” performer Lance Bass.

The North Hollywood, California, split-level was filmed as the exterior of the house featured in the 1970s TV series “The Brady Bunch.”

HGTV wound up with the 2,477-square-foot house built in 1959. Zillow reports that the house, listed for $1,885,000, sold for $3.5 million.

HGTV will feature a restoration of the home in a show called “A Very Brady Renovation” scheduled to be shown in September.
