Toledo tops BG for fifth straight win

Chris Darrington had 20 points as Toledo defeated Bowling Green 78-71 in a meeting of Mid-american Conference division leaders on Saturday night in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Nate Navigato had 14 points for Toledo (20-4, 8-3), which earned its fifth consecutiv­e victory. Jaelan Sanford added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Luke Knapke had 11 points for the Rockets, who lead the West Division.

Dylan Frye had 17 points for the Eastleadin­g Falcons (16-7, 8-2). Demajeo Wiggins added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Daeqwon Plowden had 11 points.

Justin Turner, the Falcons’ scoring leader at 19 points per game, scored only nine points on 4-of-14 shooting from the field.

DEPAUL 74, XAVIER 62: Max Strus scored six points during Depaul’s late 16-0 run, and the Blue Demons (12-9, 4-6 Big East) ended their eight-game losing streak against host Xavier (11-13, 3-8).

WRIGHT STATE 83, DETROIT MERCY 60: Loudon Love posted 17 points as Wright State (15-11, 9-4 Horizon League) routed Detroit Mercy (9-16, 6-7). Malachi Smith had 14 points and six assists for Wright State, which earned its fifth consecutiv­e home victory.

DAYTON 77, RHODE ISLAND 48: Jalen Crutcher tied his season high with 20 points as Dayton (16-8, 8-3 Atlantic 10) easily beat host Rhode Island (12-11, 5-6). Obi Toppin had 19 points for Dayton. Josh Cunningham added 13 points and Jordan Davis had 12 points for the Flyers.

MIAMI 79, OHIO 59:

Bam Bowman had a career-high 23 points to go with 12 rebounds as Miami University (13-11, 5-6 MAC) romped past Ohio (11-11, 3-7). Darrian Ringo had 14 points for Miami and Nike Sibande added 13 points and seven rebounds. Teyvion Kirk had 18 points, six rebounds and five steals for the Bobcats. Jason Carter added 16 points.

CAPITAL 81, BALDWIN WALLACE 76: Caleb Cox had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and host Capital (19-4, 14-2 Ohio Athletic Conference) defeated Baldwin Wallace (15-8, 9-7). Austin Schreck added 17 points for the Crusaders, who led by 17 points in the second half and held off a late rally by the Yellow Jackets.

MUSKINGUM 70, OTTERBEIN 69: Devon Peart hit two free throws with 13 seconds left to give host Muskingum (8-15, 4-12 OAC) a victory over Otterbein (6-17, 3-13). Justin Carter led Otterbein with a careerhigh 29 points, including five three-pointers.

OHIO WESLEYAN 72, DEPAUW 67: Ohio Wesleyan (12-11, 7-9 North Coast Athletic Conference) went on a 12-0 run late in the second half and rallied past visiting Depauw (15-8, 9-7). Ethan Stanislaws­ki had five points in the run, which gave the Bishops a 64-59 lead with 2:02 to go.
