Men ill-equipped to make laws on women's health

-

Dear Ohio and Alabama and any other states coming out with the bills taking away women’s rights:

What are you thinking? Why are men making women’s choices? You all have no knowledge and no idea about women’s bodies and the birth controls we use. Sen. John Becker called out himself for not knowing the facts. He said he didn't know anything about the birth control and would leave it to the smart people to figure everything out.

All are so worried that people will get abortions, but why don’t they worry about the kids who don’t have homes, money, food, clean water, etc.? Why don’t we ever talk about them or help them more?

Most women don’t use birth control to avoid having children. They use it for acne, to regulate their periods and deal with terrible cramps. It’s not just about sex, it’s about a woman’s body altogether.

So thank you, Alabama and Ohio, for making women’s lives more difficult and taking our rights away so now women who need access to this stuff will get things done in unsafe ways. And thanks to the representatives who don’t know anything. Maybe they shouldn't talk about or legislate restrictions on women’s bodies. of those people.

Many businesses in Columbus are unaware that the Americans with Disabilities Act has changed the rules for service dogs. Independent businesses seem to believe that they do not have to accept these rules.

ADA states that if someone with a service dog states the dog is a service dog, the only questions that can be asked are:

• Is the dog a service dog? • What is the purpose of the dog's service?

Part 2 of this document states a service dog doesn't need a service ID or a service vest.

Those with questions should contact the ADA coordinator in the state attorney general's office. Margo Niccum, Columbus

Those seeking abortion shouldn't be maligned

To all women and girls ever in need of an abortion:

No, you are not “punishing” your baby for your own “mistake.” You are seeking to protect your baby from poverty, addiction, illness, your own inability to parent or whatever other grave circumstance prompted you to consider termination in the first place.

No, you are not “killing” your baby. You are asking its soul to remain at home with the Divine, where it is already known and loved, rather than tether itself to a specific physical body in gestation.

No, you are not a demon or a sinner or a murderer. You are a human being trying to make the best decisions for everyone concerned.

No, the Divine does not grieve for your baby. The

Divine sees your heart and honors your struggle. The Divine already knows your unborn and knows that not every physical body needs to be born simply because it was conceived.

No, others may not speak for your child just because they imagine your child is not speaking for itself. It is you, not them, who has been appointed to hear and decide for your unborn.

And no, those who judge and shame you or try to punish you do not have the moral authority to do so. Ignore them. They do not yet understand the truth, that we are all eternal children of the Divine and that we are all loved and cherished equally.

Someday grace may come to them. But in the meantime, know that those who do understand truth will support you in whatever ways we can.

Abortion reversal bill opens can of worms

How can Sen. Peggy Lehner, R-dayton, call abortion reversal an “indispensable piece of information” when there is no scientific evidence to support it and no information on the safety of the procedure (Dispatch article, Wednesday)?

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has said it is “not proven science,” so why is she forcing medical providers to give false information? Charlotte Vine, Columbus

Iran invasion requires high-profile troops

We should demand that our commander-in-chief, his two adult sons and national security adviser John Bolton are in the first wave of the invasion force if President Donald Trump decides to invade Iran. Phil Schick, Columbus
