Details: After years spent leading the Cincinnati band Heartless Bastards, Wennerstro­m took a hiatus to record her solo album, “Sweet Unknown.” She hiked extensivel­y, took the hallucinog­en ayahuasca and recorded 400 voice notes to help shape the record.

Details: Formed out of New Zealand rock band the Mint Chicks, Unknown Mortal Orchestra plays infectious dance music for those who can’t dance. Its psychedeli­c base features a healthy dose of funk.
