Ohio wine festival celebrates 25th year

Some festivals, like some wine, improve with age. The Vintage Ohio Wine Festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary at this year’s event, Friday and Saturday at Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland.

The silver anniversary theme will carry over to vendor booths and a celebration tent, where “Founding Fathers of the Festival” will offer limited-edition vinifera wines. Visitors will find a tranquil setting with picnic tables and colorful tents amid groves of tall oaks.

Food, cooking demonstrations, artisans, shopping and two stages with live music also will be featured.

The festival, about 20 miles east of Cleveland, is open from noon to 9 p.m. each day. The celebration tent is open from 2 to 5:30 p.m.

Admission is $32 in advance or $37 at the gate and includes wine sample tickets. Two-day advance admission is $47. A designated-driver admission, with no wine tasting, is $14 in advance or at the gate.
