-

Jimmy Garoppolo threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Dante Pettis with 1:15 remaining and the San Francisco 49ers overcame five turnovers to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-20 on Sunday in Santa Clara, California, for their first 3-0 start in 21 years.

The Niners gave the ball away four times in the first half and then lost a fumble again in the fourth quarter, but still managed to pull out the victory and spoil Mason Rudolph's first career start in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger for the Steelers (0-3).

Rudolph threw two long touchdown passes in the second half, connecting on a 76-yarder to Juju Smith-schuster and a 39-yarder to Diontae Johnson that gave the Steelers a 20-17 lead in the fourth quarter.

Garoppolo finished 22 for 32 for 277 yards. He threw two interceptions on the first three drives on passes that hit his receivers' hands and also lost a fumble.

on two-point attempts. The last came after Lamar Jackson scrambled for a touchdown with 2:01 to go. The conversion would have pulled the Ravens within a field goal, but Jackson was shoved out of bounds short of the pylon.

PACKERS 27, BRONCOS 16: Aaron Rodgers threw for 235 yards and a touchdown, Aaron Jones tied a career high by running for two scores and Preston Smith matched a career high with three sacks. Host

Green Bay got to Joe Flacco six times and forced three turnovers.

He hit 19 of 26 passes, including two touchdowns to Greg Olsen and one each to Ohio State product Curtis Samuel and DJ Moore. BROWN SAYS HE'S RETIRING: Antonio Brown says he is finished with the NFL. In a Twitter rant on Sunday, the former New England Patriots receiver said, "Will not be playing in the NFL anymore." He went on to take shots at other people in football who have been accused of sexual misconduct, including Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Pittsburgh Steelers teammate Ben Roethlisberger. Brown was traded out of Pittsburgh and released in Oakland after his off-field antics became too much for those teams. The Patriots signed him anyway, and just days later a woman filed a civil lawsuit accusing him of rape. He played in one game, then was released after the team learned he tried to intimidate a second woman who accused him of sexual misconduct.
