Ohio quarterbac­k Rourke leads win with arm, legs

Quarterbac­k Nathan Rourke accounted for 258 yards of offense and ran for two touchdowns to lead Ohio (4-4, 3-1) past Ball State (4-4, 3-1) 34-21 in a Mid-american Conference game.

Rourke was 8-of-16-passing for 131 yards and rushed for 127 yards. O'shaan Allison added 104 yards on the ground, and De'montre Tuggle had a pair of thirdquart­er touchdown runs for Ohio.

Drew Plitt threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score for Ball State. Walter Fletcher ran for 156 yards on 14 carries that included a 73-yard touchdown run.

MIAMI 23, KENT STATE 16: Jaylon Bester ran 47 yards for a touchdown late in the game to give the visiting Redhawks (4-4, 3-1) a 10-point cushion that proved enough for the win against Kent State (3-5, 2-2).

TOLEDO 37, EASTERN MICHIGAN 34, OT: Bryant Koback rushed for a career-high 259 yards, and reserve quarterbac­k Eli Peters and tight end Drew Rosi connected for the Rockets' winning touchdown in overtime. Koback's 54-yard touchdown run in the third quarter put Toledo (5-3, 2-2) ahead 31-10. Eastern Michigan (4-4, 1-3) then rallied with a 4-yard scoring run by Mike Glass, a 3-yard TD run by Shaq Vann and a 26-yard run by Vann.

WESTERN MICHIGAN 49, BOWLING GREEN 10: Levante

Bellamy rushed for 178 yards and a career-high four touchdowns, including one of 75 yards, for the host Broncos (5-4, 3-2). The Falcons (2-6, 1-3) were outgained 574-266. Treshaun Hayward, the MAC leader in tackles (11.63 per game), had 13 for Bowling Green, including three for a loss.

OHIO WESLEYAN 45, HIRAM 18: Curtis Duren had touchdown runs of 70 and 40 yards as the Battling Bishops rolled to a 38-12 halftime lead, and he added a 23-yard TD run in the second half for Ohio Wesleyan (6-1, 5-1) in the North Coast Athletic Conference victory over the Terriers (0-7, 0-6).

DENISON 24, WITTENBERG 14:

An 81-yard touchdown pass from Drew Dawkins to Peyton Vining broke a 13-13 tie early in the fourth quarter to put the visiting Big Red (6-1, 5-1) ahead for good. It was one of only four passes Denison completed in the win over the Tigers (4-3, 4-2). Alex Minton ran for 197 yards on 36 carries for the Big Red.

OHIO DOMINICAN 7, WALSH 0: Evan Ernst threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Devanaire Conliffe nearly five minutes into the game, and that was all the scoring the host Panthers (5-2, 4-1) needed in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference win over the Cavaliers (1-7, 1-4). EJ Colson led Ohio Dominican in rushing with 122 yards on 21 carries. OTTERBEIN 18, MUSKINGUM 10: The host Cardinals earned their first win of the season by building a 18-3 third-quarter lead that included two safeties and then holding on after a touchdown by the Fighting Muskies (2-5, 1-5 Ohio Athletic Conference) early in the fourth quarter. Otterbein (1-6, 1-5) was outgained 353-189. OHIO NORTHERN 49, CAPITAL 0: Christiaan Williams ran for three touchdowns and A.J. Marks caught two TD passes for the host Polar Bears (4-3, 4-2). The Crusaders (0-7, 0-6) gained only 131 yards in their third consecutiv­e shutout.
