The Columbus Dispatch

Latest election, Buckeyes coverage online

- The Inside Story Alan Miller Columbus Dispatch

The Dispatch, Dispatch.com and the websites of 20 other daily newspapers in the USA TODAY Ohio Network are the one-stop shops for election coverage for communities across a wide swath of the state, stretching from north of Akron through central Ohio and south to Cincinnati.

Combined, we are the largest newsroom in Ohio, and our more than 300 journalists work together daily and share news across our many websites to provide you with unparalleled coverage in Ohio.

Given our print deadlines and the uncertainty about when we might see complete results, particularly in the presidential race, we do not plan to move the print edition deadline to hold for results. Instead, we will focus our attention on live updates on Dispatch .com on Election Day, providing news as voting occurs, and results into the night as votes are tallied.

If you haven’t already signed up for email newsletters and alerts from Dispatch.com, this would be a good time to do that, so that you will be notified immediately when news breaks.

We will continue updating results online on Wednesday and beyond, and the Thursday paper will carry results of local and state races and issues, and as much as we know by Wednesday night about the presidential race and other key races across the country.

Beyond the immediate coverage in the days after the election, we will follow up with reaction and analysis to explain how the results will affect Ohioans. If you’re voting today, Monday or Tuesday and still need to do some homework, the Dispatch Voters Guide is available online at www.dispatch.com /votersguide.

Buckeyes coverage

The Dispatch sports and photography teams are back on the field and in the press box as always to provide you with complete coverage of the games, despite the unique nature of the situation amid the pandemic.

On game days, you’ll find the game preview in Buckeyextra Gameday+, which is found in print and online. (If, by chance, a game is canceled or delayed because of COVID-19, we will hold publication of Gameday+ until that game is rescheduled.)

The presentation of noon game coverage is a little like the election coverage described above in that, because of our print deadlines, the Dispatch will provide you with part of our traditional coverage in the Sunday paper – the game story, commentary and photos – and more analysis in the Monday paper with popular features such as Scarlet & Gray Matter and the Bottom Line.

On weeks when the game is played at night, such as yesterday’s game against Penn State, you’ll find complete coverage on Buckeyextra.com during and soon after the game, and in print on Monday.

House market

Fans of the house market listings in the Sunday Home & Garden section, which reflect the public record of prices for properties recently sold in central Ohio, know that it appeared a little wonky in print for a couple of weeks.

Our apologies for that. When we moved to a new computer system recently, the system we use for collecting and processing the listings was having difficulty communicating with the new production system.

We have worked through that computer language barrier and are back on track with the listings.
