Geraldine “Gerrie”
Dillingham Zust, age 80, of Westerville, Ohio, died
November 5, 2020 after a short illness. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Gerrie was a loving and caring friend to many and active in many church and community activities.
Gerries greatest joy was corresponding with family and friends from near and far and sharing her home with others, especially during the Christmas season. The love of Gerrie’s life was her husband Bob, who preceded her in death in 2014. Their love story was an example to all who knew them. Gerrie was a 40+ year member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, where she served in many ministries including Intercessory Prayer, Altar Guild,
Sunday School, Hospitality and Choir. Gerrie also was very active in water aerobics both at the Westerville
Community Center and Annehurst Pool. Gerrie spent several weeks each winter in Ft. Myers, Florida and enjoyed her community there, including St. Raphaels
Episcopal Church. Prior to her retirement, Gerrie was a high school French and
English teacher who worked as a substitute teacher and tutor in Westerville Schools for many years. She also taught full-time at Franklin Heights High School,
Bishop Wehrle, Bishop
Watterson, Worthington
High School, Lexington High
School (Boston), and Shaw
High School (Cleveland).
Gerrie was a 1962 graduate of Miami University with a BA in High School
French/english and Elementary Education, and of
Shaker Heights High School (Cleveland) Class of 1958.
She is survived by her three children, the Rev. Vicki
Zust of Williamsville, New
York, Robert “Bob” Zust of
Hilliard, Ohio and daughterin-law, Christiane, Sandra
“Sandy” Zust Croucher of
Sheffield Lake, Ohio and son-in-law, Brian Croucher; her five grandchildren,
Tyler, Amanda, Drew and
Aimee Zust and Aree
Croucher; her sister, Wendy
Dillingham of New Albany,
Ohio; her brother, William
“Bill” Dillingham (Barbara) of Cleveland; her sister-inlaw, Janice Meek (Bob) of
Portland, Oregon; her brother-in-law, Frank Zust of The
Villages, Florida; and her sister-in-law, Susan Zust of Westerville; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Zust and by her parents George and
Geraldine Dillingham. There will be a socially distanced visitation at MORELAND
FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 2-5PM, where friends can call and express their condolences to the family.
The family asks that all attendees observe social distancing and mask guidelines. A memorial service and interment of ashes will be celebrated in the Spring of 2021 at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in
