Alice Anderson Foust, age 93, of Marysville, passed peacefully Saturday, January 9, 2021 at her home. A homemaker, she was a loving and deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r. She was a longtime member of Marysville First United Methodist Church, where she loved visiting shut-ins and nursing homes. A 1945 graduate of Cable High School, she attended Cleveland Bible College. She and her late husband, Jack, raised their five children on their family Guernsey farm in Champaign County. In 1968, they moved to Fairfax, Virginia where Jack accepted a position with the US Department of Agricultur­e and Alice obtained her real estate license. They made many lifelong friends while in Fairfax and were honored to attend an inaugurati­on party for President Jimmy Carter. Upon returning to Ohio when Jack was asked to manage the Ohio State Fair, they built their home in Marysville where they lived since 1980. Alice enjoyed vegetable gardening, reading and cherished family times. Even with challenges she faced as she aged, Alice was steadfast in living her Christian faith and in demonstrat­ing an unwavering love and devotion to her family. She was born August 4, 1927 in Cable, Ohio to the late Willis and Bessie Hayes Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jack C. Foust, whom she married October 25, 1947 in Kentucky; and her siblings, Wilbur, Frank, Donna, Lester and John. Alice is survived by her children, Ellen (Greg) Traucht of Marysville, Chris (Kathy) Foust of Bellefonta­ine, Linda Heminger of Urbana, Jane (Tom) Brower of Marysville and Shannon (Gina) Foust of Plain City; her grandchild­ren, Tyler (Loren) Traucht, Meggan (Mike) Greenbaum, Justin Foust, Jarrod (Amy) Foust, Joseph (Leigh) Foust, Amanda (Shawn) Williams, Brooks (Kelly) Heminger, Drew (Jennifer) Heminger, Ryan (Nanci) Brower, Lindsay (Josh) Streit, Allison (Vijay) Ramakrishn­an, Blake Brower, Haley (Rayce) Robinson, Carson Foust and Jake Vitt; her great-grandchild­ren, Kiersten, Reagan, Jovie, Sophie, Olivia, Taylor, Jenna, Ellie, Madeline, Myla, George, Charlotte, Blaine, Alexa, Brooke Alice, Jack, Chloe, Trace, Tucker, Zavier, Ellah, Lilli, Mack, Fletcher, Hudson, Rachel, Kate, Leah, Eliza, Calla, Finley, Olive, Maya, Hayes, Mckinley and Nash; her sisters, Nellie Outram of Springfiel­d, Joyce (Fred) Mcclure of Urbana and Celesta Venneman of Urbana; a brother, Jim (Nancy) Bumgarner of Urbana; sisters-in-law, Gladys Anderson and Joan Anderson, both of Urbana; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends, including Donald and Joanne Barger. Private graveside services will be held at Forest Grove Cemetery in Plain City. A public Celebratio­n of Life memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to Alice and Jack’s favorite charity, World Vision Internatio­nal or to Loving Care Hospice. Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family.
