Patricia F. Benadum (Smith), age 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, December 16, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born March 23, 1941, Patty graduated from Bishop Watterson High School in 1959 and continued her education graduating from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1963. In June of 1961 she came home from nursing school to attend her brother Dennis’s graduation party from Aquinas College High

School where upon she met Tom, the love of her life. On that day a love ignited and burned strong for 60 years. God blessed them with a large family and many good friends. Those years were filled with joy and

happiness and if you knew Patty you were fortunate to be present for many of these wonderful times. She dedicated her life to raising her children and spending every possibly opportunit­y with her grandchild­ren. Patty and Tom’s home was always a hub of activity and everyone’s favorite place to be. She was the most giving, loving, caring and happy person. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary Shea Smith, Francis P (Pat) Smith, sister Mary Ellen (Thomas) Goble and brother John Farrell Smith. Survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Thomas F. Benadum; six children, Beth (Robert) Gaines, Sarah (Timothy)

Rabold, Kristin (Gareth) Zerkle, Megan Benadum, Thomas (Jillian) Benadum and Michael (Kathryn) Benadum; 14 adoring grandchild­ren, Gregory, Rachel, Christophe­r, Natalie, Julia, Anna, Jacob, Thomas, Elizabeth, Adam, Michael, Emma, Lila, Nora; and four great-grandchild­ren, Hayden, Lilian, Grace and Edison. Also survived by siblings, Dennis (Carol) Smith, Barbara (Michael) Betts, Kaye Smith and Julie (Garth) Garlock; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 20 E. Dominion Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may
