1931 - 2020

Fred A. Thomas, of Columbus, passed away on December 1, 2020. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 5, 1931, he joined the Air Force upon graduation from Dunbar High School in Little Rock. After his military service, he settled in Columbus and enrolled to The Ohio State University where he received his under graduate degree and Juris Doctorate. Fred’s dedication to the law as Public Defender, Referee of Juvenile Court, and 55 years’ private practice on Mt. Vernon Ave in Columbus made him a remarkable man. He loved the game of golf where he travelled with his colleagues. He loved to attend the OSU home football games. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Veo Thomas of Little Rock. Fred is survived by his companion, Cynthia, Brittany and Legend, son, Dana, two grandsons, and sister, Norma Jean. Fred was admired by many and a friend to all he will be greatly missed. A memorial service will follow in the New Year on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Caliman Funeral Services, 3700 Refugee Road, Columbus, Ohio 43232. Visitation 5-6PM, tribute 6-7PM.
