Ronald Frederick Schwab, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Ventura, CA as a result of COVID-19. Born in Lawrence County, OH on July 19, 1934, he grew up in Ironton and Columbus and was a 1952 graduate of Reynoldsburg High School. His career in sales in the auto industry began at Rodenfel’s Chevrolet, continued with Beasley Ford, Byers Automotive and moved on to Dick Masheter Ford. His sales career endured for more than 25 years in the luxury motorcoach industry until his retirement from Custom Coach Corporation. He earned his realtor’s license and worked with the King-thompson agency. Before moving to California, he enjoyed driving charters for Immke Leasing and Greenlawn Charters. Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Betty Elaine (Ausenbaugh) Schwab, his parents Carl F. and Helen V. Schwab and his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Virginia Kay Schwab. He is survived by his children, Dr. Ronda (Thom) Doonan of Port Hueneme, CA, Yvonne (Mike) Frantz of Columbus, OH, and April (Lance) Jackson of Urbana, OH. He was grandfather to Geoffrey Doonan, Kendra Hans, Olivia and Adaleine Jackson and great-grandfather to Renton and Riley Doonan, Jaxon Dillard and Braxon Hans along with nieces and nephews, cousins, and other family members as well as dear friends. A visitation will be held at Evans Funeral Home, 4171 E. Livingston Ave. on Friday, January, 15 from 12:30-1:30pm with a graveside service beginning at 2pm in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Reynoldsburg City Schools Alumni Scholarship fund or the Whitehall Education Foundation-wyaa Scholarship fund in Ron’s honor.
