Elisabeth Allen Walker died in Redding, CT on January 10, 2021, just shy of her 86th birthday. Born in St. Louis and raised in Columbus, OH, Mrs. Walker was a loving mother and devoted grandmothe­r to 13 grandchild­ren. A graduate of The College of Wooster,

Mrs. Walker spent many years as Director of Volunteers, first at Jefferson

Hospital, then Hahnemann Hospital and later at The Philadelph­ia Orchestra. She had a beautiful singing voice and had always sung with profession­al choruses, the last being the Fairfield County Chorale.

Mrs. Walker was a notable needlewoma­n. Her crewel embroidery, counted crossstitc­h, and bargello projects have been distribute­d among her family. Mrs. Walker was a great party planner, hostess, and a fabulous cook. Her only culinary failings were her pork chops and love of Spangler Circus Peanuts. Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughters, Doon Foster of Wilton, CT and Dana Allen of Ipswich, MA; a son-in-law, John; a brother, William; and a dear cousin and her husband. Of her 13 grandchild­ren, two predecease­d her. Her first husband, John, and her second husband, Robert, both predecease­d her. She also leaves four step-daughters and their families. A memorial service plan will be forthcomin­g. An avid gardener, Mrs. Walker’s ashes will be placed in her beloved garden. Memorial gifts can be sent to The Fairfield County Chorale at
