John E. Gallagher, age 80, of Columbus, OH, formerly of Viera, FL, passed away April 15, 2021. Born Dec 1, 1940 in Wheeling, WV, John was a 1958 graduate of Wheeling High School where he was a 4 Sport Athlete and attended West Liberty State University until he was drafted into the Army and served 2 yrs. John moved his family to Columbus in 1968. He was employed by Rockwell Internatio­nal which took him from Columbus to Duluth, GA where he was the Payroll Mgr. John transferre­d to The Kennedy Space Center where he retired. John was an avid sports fan and loved his Buckeyes, Steelers and Pirates. He coached Little League Baseball for 20 years and refereed Basketball for many of those. John was a member of Grace Presbyteri­an Church in Martins Ferry. He was a Freemason, Shriner, member the Elks, Moose, American Legion and VFW organizati­ons. John was preceded in death by his parents Charles E Gallagher and Audie Mae (Crosby) Gallagher and sister Martha (Gallagher) Nolte. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jerri (Wilkins) Gallagher; and son, John (Missy) Gallagher; grandsons, Quinn and Dane; and sister, Margaret (Brent) Johnson; and sister-in-law, Linda Archer;

and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover St., Martins Ferry, OH, where friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Elders of Grace Presbyteri­an Church will hold services at 7pm followed by the Ohio City Masonic Lodge at 7:15pm then Ohio River Valley Elks Lodge at 7:30pm. Services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11am at Grace Presbyteri­an Church, 7 N 4th St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. The Belmont County Veterans Assoc. will give Military honors at the cemetery at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Grace Presbyteri­an Church.
