Carole Lynne (Longshore) Bell, age 82, of New Albany, died peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her home. A retired Accounts Payable/receivable Clerk, Carole was a longtime employee of Craft Wholesaler­s, Inc. Carole was strong in her faith and had attended the Vans Valley Community Church in Sunbury. She was a quiet, caring person and a devoted caregiver to her husband during his extended illness. Carole was an excellent cook, whose co-workers used to look forward to her contributi­ons to the office potlucks almost as much as her family looked forward to her holiday meals. She also had a talent for crafts, particular­ly soft-sculpting, and enjoyed collecting water globes. Born June 28, 1938 in Medina County, Ohio to the late John G. and Frances E. (Simms) Longshore. Also preceded in death by loving husband Melvin E. Bell, brother Robert Longshore, sister and brother-in-law Shirley and William Mertel, sister-in-law Diane Longshore. Carole is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and David Phelps of Columbus; brothers and sister-in-law, Donald Longshore, Randy and Kathy Longshore; nieces and nephews, Deborah Benoit, Daun Tabone, Lori Lenzer, Lisa Luoma, Stacy Ruh, Heather Johnston, Casey Longshore; great-nieces and great-nephews, Caitlin and Andrew Benoit, Kylie Lenzer, Colton and Chase Ruh, Logan Johnston, and Landen and Bransen Longshore. Friends may call from 6-8PM on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Devore-snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. State Route 61, (at SR 3), Sunbury, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Tuesday.
