1964 - 2021

John M. Todhunter III, died August 16, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Born December 14, 1964 to Frieda and John M. Todhunter Jr., John loved spending time with family and friends and was proud of his service with the U.S. Army and locally with the Lancaster Police Department. John served eight years in the U.S. Army as

a military police officer while stationed in Korea, Germany and Iraq during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He later served as

a police officer for Fairfield Medical Center and

retired from the Lancaster Police Department after 20 years. John really enjoyed spending time with family and hosting cookouts. He had a passion for music, especially singing and being a member of the police color guard. He is survived by his wife, Karen Todhunter; daughter, Emily Hurd; step-children, Blake and Brandon Lavender, Nick Hershberge­r and Stephanie Hershberge­r; numerous

grandkids; brothers, Carl

(Sally Ann) Todhunter, Dan

(Nancy Caprelta) Griffin;

nephew, Graeme Todhunter; nieces and nephews, Sherri Shonebarge­r, Lori

Phillips, Joe Phillips, Ron

Griffin, and Shannon Hudnall; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his

parents, brother Ron Griffin

(KIA in Vietnam), and sister

Carolyn Phillips. Funeral

services will be held on Saturday, August 21 at 10M at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at Maple

Grove Cemetery. Visitation

will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8PM. The family would like to thanks The
