- Patrick Cooley

Scottish beer maker Brewdog plans to open its New Albany location on Aug. 25, the company announced this week.

A grand opening at the Granville Street bar is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will last until 11 p.m.

The 8,600-square-foot taproom will serve 24 draft beers along with a food menu that includes vegan and vegetarian options, according to a news release.

Beers on tap will include Brewdog staples such as the Hazy Jane New England pale ale, the Elvis Juice IPA, the Lightspeed hazy IPA, and the Lost Lager dry-hopped pilsner.

Three non-alcoholic beers will be available on draft, along with several of Brewdog’s exclusive small-batch nanodog beers.

The space includes a 1,645square-foot patio complete with fire pits.

The upcoming taproom will also feature indoor fire pits, super-sized bar games and an interactive beer school, the release said.

Brewdog in New Albany will offer two-for-one vegan and vegetarian menu items on Mondays, along with all-you-can-eat buffalo chicken or cauliflower wings on Wednesdays.

The taproom will raffle off a twoperson trip to Brewdog’s Las Vegas location at its Aug. 25 grand opening, the release said. The Las Vegas bar is slated to open sometime next year.

The upcoming craft beer bar will be Brewdog’s seventh location in the United States and its fourth in central Ohio. The Columbus-area locations include taprooms in Franklinton and the Short North, along with a massive facility in Canal Winchester that includes a hotel, a brewery, a museum, and an expansive taproom.

Brewdog closed the Franklinton taproom in January of 2020, citing loses stemming from the coronavirus pandemic, but the location reopened after infection numbers improved. pcooley@dispatch.com @Patrickacooley
