Thomas Allen Green, Sr., age 88, of Columbus, Ohio, died peacefully from Lewy Body Dementia, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at his home with family members at his side. He was born June 16, 1933 in Chagrin Falls, OH to the late Carl C. And Mildred (Thomas) Green. Tom was an alum of Brush HS, Class of “51, in Lyndhurst, OH; veteran of the US Army, 1953-1955, during the Korean Conflict; was an Ornamental Horticultu­ralist Graduate of OSU ‘58 and owned Arbor Lawn Services for 25 years. He retired as a Captain of the Columbus Fire Department after 31 years. In addition to being a Ladders instructor, Tom served in the Fire Prevention Bureau until retirement. Tom enjoyed caring for flowers, trees and shrubs as well as being Assistant Scoutmaste­r of Troop 123, Worthingto­n, OH. Tom is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lynn Smith; son, Thomas (Barbara) Green, Jr.; daughters, Debbie Ann (Jane) Green and Diana Lynn (Ann) Green; grandchild­ren, Ryan (Gabby) and Krissy (Brian); and great-grandchild­ren; sister, Barbara James; and several nieces and nephews. The family thanks special caregivers Andrea, Tara, Miss Dot, Denice, Courtney, and Nikita for their unwavering devotion to Tom during his horrible Lewy Body Dementia Journey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Columbus Ohio Fire Museum, 260 N. 4th St., Columbus, OH 43215. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 E. Dominion Blvd., Columbus, where the calling hour will be 9:3010:30am, and the mass at 10:30am.
