h Ash Davidson: The author will discuss her debut novel, “Damnation Spring,” with Nicole Terez Dutton, editor of Kenyon Review, in a Gramercy Book Club event online at 7 p.m. Aug. 23. Set in the 1970s, the novel is the story of a Pacific Northwest logging town plagued by misfortune and mystery. Admission costs $5, or $30 that includes a copy of Davidson’s book. h Eman Quotah and Donna Hemans: In a free online event presented by Bexley Public Library and Gramercy Books at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25, the authors will discuss their novels, both of which deal with complicate­d relationsh­ips between mothers and daughters. Quotah’s “Bride of the Sea” is the story of a Saudi Arabian family in Cleveland split in half. Hemans’ “Tea by the Sea” follows a mother’s quest to find the daughter taken from her at birth. h Amy Grace Ulman and Amy Solaro: Author and speech pathologis­t Ulman and illustrato­r Solaro collaborat­ed on the children’s picture book “The Sound Bites,” a story that include the 24 consonant sounds used in English, presented in the order in which children typically acquire the sounds. The author and illustrato­r will sign copies of the book outdoors from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 28, at Gramercy Books, 2424 E. Main St., Bexley.
