Recap. Memphis scored all of its runs in the first inning and cruised to an 8-4 victory over visiting Columbus, losers of three straight. Scott Hurst’s grand slam capped a first inning in which Clippers starter Robert Broom (2-2) allowed six runs on three hits and three walks over one-third of an inning. The bullpen, led by Kevin Herget’s three shutout innings, held Memphis scoreless over the final six innings. Will Benson had three hits for the Clippers, who outhit the Redbirds 11-8.
