Waiting to see plan on stopping homicides before we set record
Eric Lagatta wrote a great article titled “Columbus adds 4 more homicides.” (Aug. 25). It cites the total number of homicides to date: 139.
If you projected that number to Dec. 31, that would equal 214 homicides for 2021. The total for last year was 175, with 2021 bringing a projected increase of 39 (22%) and the largest number of homicides ever in Columbus.
Has anybody written a comprehensive plan for effectively dealing with this issue?
All I hear is that numbers are going up.
Have they analyzed the data concerning area of city, situations, time of day, age of killer, etc. to find out how to effectively respond?
I would love to see a plan.
