Reward for info leading to arrest in ’19 homicide

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for informatio­n leading to an arrest in the case of a man who was found fatally shot more than two years ago in Driving Park.

Around 7:40 a.m. on May 5, 2019, Jayelin Wilson, 23, of South Linden, was found fatally shot in an alley located between the 1300 blocks of Gault Street and East Livingston Avenue on the Near East Side.

A person who called 911 said they had heard gunshots earlier in the morning that day and believed it could be related to Wilson’s death. About 90 minutes before Wilson was found, two people had walked into Ohiohealth Grant Medical Center with gunshot wounds.

Those two victims were believed to have been shot outside an after-hours club in the area of 1300 E. Livingston Avenue.

Detectives told The Dispatch at the time there was evidence that “numerous gunshots” were exchanged in the alley.

The two victims who arrived at the hospital were not cooperativ­e with police.
