Recap. The Clippers scored four runs in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough in a 14-12 loss. The Redbirds scored five in the eighth to go ahead 14-8 in a game that featured 18 hits by Columbus and 15 by Memphis. Andruw Monasterio had four hits for the Clippers and Gabriel Arias added three. Nolan Jones and Will Benson homered for the Clippers, who led 6-0 in the third inning but quickly trailed 8-6 in the fourth. Benson and Connor Marabell tripled. Columbus starter Heath Fillmyer (2-6) allowed seven runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings, and Kyle Nelson allowed five runs on five hits in 1 2/3 innings.
