Tamea Bartholomew Sutphen, age 93, of Grandview and Sanibel Island, died peacefully at First Community Village surrounded by family on August 29, 2021. Born in Sacramento, CA to the late Donald and Claire Bartholomew. She grew up in Grandview, Ohio and married the late Thomas C. Sutphen in 1948 at First Community Church. Survived by daughters, Susie Herb of Durango, CO, Pat (Marcus) Aden of
Frisco, CO, and Julie Phelps of Dublin; grandchildren, Scott, Andy (Crystal), and Brooke Herb (Devin Hencmann), Olya and Christopher Aden, Megan
(fiancé, Ryan Parten), Steven (Allison), and Michael (Julie) Phelps; and numerous great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by brothers Bill (Joanna) and Milton (Gerry) Bartholomew, and special friend Patrick Doyle. She graduated from Grandview High School and attended Ohio State where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was instrumental in the continued success of Sutphen Fire Equipment Company. Member of First Community Church, Scioto Country Club, Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae, Buckeye
Ranch, Childhood League
(very involved with Merry
Go Round), Catawba Island
Club, and Captiva Island Yacht Club. She loved bridge, gin rummy, other card games, tennis, skiing, traveling, boating, reading, and was known for her dry sense of humor, wit, intelligence, kindness, smile, laughter, and love. She loved her family dearly. Arrangements by Schoedinger Dublin. Private service at First Community Church and entombment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
