Conley, Merfel “Merf” A.
1979 - 2021
Merfel “Merf” A. Conley, age 42, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August
24, 2021. His final days were filled with what he
most treasured: spending
time with his wife and kids. His kids were his life, and family was the cornerstone of who Merf was and what he loved. Merf was known
by many names: Husband,
Dad, Pops, Son, Brother, Coach, Mentor and Friend, along with a whole host
of “close enough” name spellings that he answered to with a smile. And that
grin – it was ornery and
good natured. Merf could
turn mundane moments
into fun. He was quick with his humor but even faster with his kindness. Merf invested in and cared for people through coaching and umpiring for Grove City travel and Parks and Rec
baseball teams, at work, when he taught kids at Buckeye Christian Church, and throughout his lifetime of friendships. A Chillicothe High School graduate, Merf received his Associates Degrees from Harrison College before working at Highlights for Children. He is preceded in death by his father, Ward Conley. He is survived by
his wife of 21 years, Krissa; children, Delaney, Dylan, Ethan, Jadyn; grandsons,
Logan, Nolan (who is coming soon); his mother,
Barbara Conley; siblings, Ward (Tomiah) Conley, Susie (Garry) Hopkins, Adam (Andrea) Conley. He is also survived by his inlaws who loved him as their own, as did his numerous nieces, nephews, extensive extended family, and many dear friends, coworkers, and young athletes. A funeral service will be held at Buckeye Christian Church, 1528 London-groveport Rd., Grove City, OH on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1pm with visitation beginning at 11am with Mike Phillips officiating.
