Cleveland catcher Ramos out for season; Peacock traded
Cleveland catcher Wilson Ramos is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL and sprained MCL against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. In nine games with Cleveland, Ramos, 34, went 7-for-31 (.226) with two home runs and seven RBIS. Ramos' injury leaves Austin Hedges as the only healthy catcher on the 40-man roster with Roberto Perez still on the 10-day injured list with shoulder inflammation.
Peacock traded to Red Sox
Pitcher Brad Peacock was also dealt to the Red Sox on Monday in exchange for cash considerations. Peacock was signed to a minor-league deal following the injuries to Shane Bieber, Aaron Civale and Zach Plesac, but he went on to post a 7.68 ERA in 34 innings with Triple-a Columbus and was never an option for a promotion to the majors.
