Deepwater workouts burn fat, build muscle and beat the heat
In a recent column, I made passing mention of a “deepwater cardio session” that I was planning to do. h A few curious folks requested I expound a bit more on what that entailed. h Glad to! h Especially because now is an apropos time to explore the topic for two reasons. h
First, and most obviously, pool workouts are a great way to beat the heat during South Florida’s broiling summer. h And second, the Summer Olympics just gave us all that rare quadrennial chance to watch some of the fittest team-sport athletes on the planet — and ones who do almost all their conditioning in the deep end of the pool: water polo players.
