Teri Jean (Hornyak) Butterfield, 61, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at Dublin Methodist Hospital, after losing her battle with Covid. Teri was born January 22, 1960 in Akron, Ohio to Eugene and Nilah Jean (Eddy) Hornyak. The family later moved to the Columbus, Ohio area where she graduated from Hilliard High School in 1978. In 1982 she married Michael Butterfield and they had two children Ethan Michael and Emily Paige. Teri began working in the credit department at Sears while still in high school and continued until her son Ethan was born and she became a stay-at-home mom.

To make a little money on the side she started a career as a Pampered Chef consultant which encapsulated her life for the next 25+ years as she became a director and made many life-long friends. Teri worked 12 years for the Jonathan Alder School District as a handicap aide, library assistant, and eventually head cook at Plain City Elementary. She left to head up the kitchen at The Scotts Miracle-gro Company until she was furloughed in 2020. Teri decided the retirement life was right for her so she could babysit her new granddaughter Karson Olivia who was born in February 2021, followed by grandson Silas Mykal born in April 2021. Teri is remembered by all who knew her as a selfless, loving, caring and giving person who would do anything for anyone. She told people she was God’s hands and feet and her ability to jump in whenever she saw a need confirmed that. No one ever walked away from Teri hungry! She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael R. Butterfield, loving parents Eugene G. and Nilah (Eddy) Hornyak, and mother-in-law Mary (Reder) Butterfield.
