Opal Lorena Denty, age 94, of Marengo, died peacefully on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Ohio Living Sarah Moore following a brief illness. Born August 13, 1927 in Washington County, Virginia. Graduate of Galena High School. Opal was very proud of her family and her 68 year marriage to Charles

H. Denty, who preceded her in death in 2015. Opal was a devout Christian. She was also a talented painter and had been a member of the Delaware Artists Guild. She also enjoyed flower gardening and reading. In addition to her husband, Opal was also preceded in death by parents Noah and Margaretta (Davenport) Jackson, sister Betty Blair, brother Paul Jackson. Opal is survived by daughter, Donna Reynolds of Marengo; sons, Darwin (Rosanne) Denty of Fulton, Jeff (Norma) Denty of Columbus, Kim (Angie) Denty of Marengo; sister, Muriel Bingley of Leesburg, FL; brother, Robert (Nancy) Jackson of Marysville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Friends may call from 5-7PM on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Devore-snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. State Route 61, (at SR 3), Sunbury, where the Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday. Pastors Joyce Tuttle, Dora Gilmore and Carol Stephens officiating. Interment to follow at Galena Cemetery.
