Janice Jo Teater, age 97, of Plain City and formerly of Marysville, passed away at Edgewater Place on September 4, 2021. She was born to the late Lelah (Drumm) Hull and Joseph Hawley in Marysville on September 6, 1923 and raised by her mother Lelah, and Stanley Hull. She graduated from Broadway School in 1941. Janice married William “Bud” Cloyd Teater on June 12, 1942 and they celebrated 66 years of marriage before his death on October 31, 2008. Janice and Bud retired to Florida and lived there several years before returning to Ohio. Janice worked in the jewelry department at several stores in the Columbus area while raising her 5 children. She loved reading, crossword puzzles and going to and setting up garage sales. Janice really enjoyed boating with family and friends on lakes and rivers in Ohio and surroundin­g states. She and Bud traveled around the country in their camper for weeks at a time and would spend several weeks going from Ohio to Florida when they were spending just the winters in Florida. In addition to her parents and Stanley, she was preceded in death by her husband Bud, son Stanley (Mike) Michael Teater, and daughter-inlaw Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Teater. She is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Conner, Danetta (Denny) Babbs; sons, Randy Teater and Greg (Sandra) Teater; daughter-in-law, Peg Teater; 4 grandchild­ren and 5 great grandchild­ren. The family will have a private graveside service at later date at Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville, Ohio. Memorial contributi­ons can be made in Janice’s memory to The James Cancer Hospital.
