Sarah Kay Phillips, age 20, of Mt Vernon, OH, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Sarah suffered an epileptic seizure on Friday morning at the University of Cincinnati and went into cardiac arrest. The family is so appreciative of the lifesaving efforts of her sisters at Pi Beta Phi, the Cincinnati paramedics and UCMC Hospital. Sarah was surrounded and held by her family. Sarah’s passion and desire was to help the environment and other people. Sarah’s gift through the Donate Life program will directly impact the lives of 75 people. Sarah was a 2020 graduate of Northridge High School in Johnstown, OH. She was a National Honor Society Member and active in 4H and loved basketball. She loved spending time with her friends and participating in the student activities on Football Friday Nights. Sarah had a strong love for family, childhood friends, high school friends and teammates and UC. The

University of Cincinnati and Pi Beta Phi were Sarah’s happy place. Survived by her mother, Sherry (Larkins) Phillips; her father, Tim Phillips; older sister, Megan Phillips; younger brother, Clayton Phillips; her Mamaw, Pat Phillips; her favorite dog, Brewster; and blessed with countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is now reunited with her Papaw Harold Lee Phillips and Grammy Virginia Johnson (Richard Johnson/darrell Larkins). Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, OH, Wednesday from 4-8pm, where service will be held Thursday at 11am. Pastor Jason Snyder, officiating. Interment Fancher Cemetery.
