Woman killed in tractor-trailer crash

- Eric Lagatta

A 52-year-old woman was killed late Tuesday morning when she pulled out of a Grandview Heights intersection where she had a stop sign and her vehicle was hit by an oncoming tractor-trailer.

The crash was reported just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Northwest Boulevard and Virginia Avenue, according to a release from the Grandview Heights Division of Police.

Medics transported Kimmerly Moore-kelley to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where she died shortly after 1:30 p.m., police said

Moore-kelley was driving a Jeep south on Virginia Avenue. Motorists on Virginia Avenue have a stop sign before merging onto Northwest Boulevard, a four-lane roadway with a median where motorists have a continuous lane of travel, said Grandview Heights police Chief Ryan Starns.

A tractor-trailer driving northwest on Northwest Boulevard with the right-of-way hit her vehicle as she entered the intersection, Starns said.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, he said.
