Not only is vaccinating kids easy, it now can net some a gift card

-

Our children are returning to classrooms as the delta variant drives a troubling rise in COVID-19 cases.

For children 12 and over, however, there is one certain way to ensure they are protected: the COVID-19 vaccine. It’s free to everyone and highly effective at preventing transmission of the virus – even more effective at preventing cases serious enough to send someone to the hospital.

For Ohioans covered by Medicaid managed care, there is a special incentive: Any Medicaid member who gets the first vaccine shot by Dec. 31 – including kids ages 12-17 – is eligible for a $100 gift card. Details about the incentive and Medicaid vaccination opportunities are available at covidvaxonthespot.com.

On-the-spot vaccinations are available at pharmacies, local health departments and doctors’ offices.

I urge all Ohioans to take this simple step to keep themselves and their families safe.
