Sidle, Kenneth
Kenneth V. “Kenny” Sidle, 90, of Hanover, Ohio, died September 14, 2021 at his home of natural causes. Born July 30, 1931 near Toboso, Ohio he was a son of the late David Vernon and Velva Viola (Victor) Sidle. Kenny served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the DAV. He retired in 1986 from Owens-corning Fiberglas of Newark. For many years he was a member of the Toboso Church of The Nazarene and more recently he attended Toboso United
Methodist Church. With the exception of his Lord, and his family, Kenny’s greatest love was music. He began
playing the fiddle at age five, having been taught
by his father. He became a champion, and highly
recognized, fiddle player
throughout the Midwest and Canada. From the stage at Hillbilly Park near Hanover to the halls of Capitol Hill in Washington, DC his music has been enjoyed by thousands. Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Evelyn L. (Wright) Sidle whom he married April 23, 1955; a daughter, Becky (David) Finckel of Newark; two sons, Kenny Dale Sidle of Newark and Gary David (Penney) Sidle of Lusaka, Zambia Africa; eight grandchildren, Brian (Vera) Finckel, Kris (Ron) Lohrman, Jr., Sara Finckel, Michael Sidle, Coleen (Darren) Warren, Lindsay (Kevin) Robinson, Alyssa Sidle and Josiah Sidle; and four great grandchildren, Taylor and River Warren,
Alexis Sidle and Naomi Grace Robinson. Also surviving is one brother, Wayne (Myrna) Sidle of Newark; three sisters, Mildred Mckenzie of Gratiot, Ohio, Marge Schmitt of Newark and Verna (Carl Dean) Smith of Newark; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers Roy, Dale and Chester Sidle and a sister Eleanor Robison. Calling hours will be 4-8pm Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Vanover and Pastor Rob Turner officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery.
