- University or Gamma

Cynthia Ann (Baker)

Mcadow, of New Albany,

Ohio, 12/4/1926 - 7/2/2021, grew up in

Tulsa, OK, Corpus Christi,

TX and Mechanicsburg,

PA. A proud member of

Gamma Phi Beta sorority,

Cyn graduated from Ohio

Wesleyan University in

Delaware, OH, and married

Harold (Red) Mcadow in 1948. After living in several

Ohio towns, Cyn, Red and their 4 daughters moved to Saginaw, MI, where Cyn focused on her family, her

Scout leader and Sunday

School teacher. Back in

Columbus, OH, in 1970, she began a new career at

Ohio State University, in the

Financial Aid and Student

Employment office. An OSU grad recently shared how much he appreciated Cyn’s help as he sorted out problems. Cyn’s forte quickly became listening and giving sound advice based on her lived experiences, common sense and love of people.

She was also proud of her time-study solutions. She and Red enjoyed the company of many good friends, bridge, golf and traveling. In the early 1990s they retired to Deland, FL. Cyn later moved to Ormond Beach,

FL where she enjoyed her pool, quilting, the opera,

Audubon and many old and new friends. Returning to

Ohio in 2011 she delighted in family visits, planning and hosting wine-time get-togethers and dinners, all while remaining fiercely by her family: Marsha (Jeff) Dicenzo, Adrian, MI,

Catherine (Rick) Fitzgerald,

Dexter, MI, Gail (Frank) Copeland,

South Lyon, MI, and

Dana Ann (Kevin) Blanke,

Gahanna, OH; 9 grandchildren, Sara (Donovan) Butt,

Lisa (Alex Donado) Copeland,

Catherine (Ryan)

Seiser, Margaret (Eric)

Antolik, Erin (Peter) Clarkson,

Meredith (Ryan) Nye,

Rachel (Zack) Zwelling; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Louis

Mcadow (1925-1993), grandson Tommy Dicenzo,

parents Sylva Caecile (Burton) Baker and William
