1953 - 2021
Kipp William Kubbs, age 67, passed away peacefully and won his race to Heaven on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Novant Health
Presbyterian Medical
Center Harris Hospice Unit after battling a rare disease called amyloid light chain (AL) amyloidosis. Kipp was surrounded by his soulmate
Teri, sons Kirt and Kody, daughters-in-law Amanda (Kirt) and Sherry (Kody), and granddaughters Gwen and Delaney (Kody) who loved their Papaw dearly.
Kipp is survived by his immediate family named above as well as his mother, Martha Ellen Geyer
Kubbs; his sisters, Sandy (Bob) Snyder and Cathy (John) Oyster; his brother,
Chris (Julie) Kubbs; his brothers-in-law, Jim (Peggy)
Cook and Brad Cook; and numerous nephews and nieces. Kipp also was extremely proud of chosen grandson Ryan Williams.
Kipp was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Francis W. mother-in-law, Jim and Elsie
Cook; and his sister-in-law,
Amy Cook. Born in Mt. Gilead,
Ohio, Kipp graduated from Mt. Gilead High School in 1972 and Ohio Northern
University in 1976, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and business administration. Kipp, who was known for his strong work ethic, began working at a young age mowing lawns, delivering newspapers, and stocking shelves at Geyer’s Markets in Mt. Gilead, Ohio. Kipp worked as an admissions counselor at Ohio Northern
University before going on to a successful career in telecommunications sales at AT&T (formerly Ohio Bell) and Qwest Communications
(formerly LCI International
and Litel Communications).
To know Kipp was to quickly experience and appreciate his integrity, forward-thinking and visionary ways, attention to detail in everything he did, strong work ethic and conscientious approach to everything. But Kipp also was extremely witty, athletic, capable of fixing anything, a lover of sweets, and he possessed an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special and important.
Kipp was a keeper! Kipp was a member of Lifepointe
Church in Fort Mill, South
Carolina, where he and Teri shared a special bond with their beloved Lifegroup, living and loving life together.
South Carolina, where Kipp and Teri relocated in retirement, Kipp was a longtime resident of Pataskala,
Ohio, where he made many lifelong friendships and he was extremely involved in the Watkins Memorial Athletic
Association helping to raise significant funds and complete a number of large projects. Kipp was always about raising funds and working for great causes, and he lived a life of generosity and helping others.
Family and friends are invited to commemorate and remember Kipp’s amazing life with an open house celebration at Broadview
Golf Course (5694 Headleys
Mill Road, Pataskala,
OH 43062) on Saturday,
October 23, 2021, from 1pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation in Kipp’s honor to the Amyloidosis Foundation
(www.amyloidosis. org). Amyloidosis is a rare disease that all too often goes undetected and misdiagnosed. Please take a minute to visit the site and understand the symptoms.
And if you suspect anything, ask your doctor to dig a little deeper. This truly would be Kipp’s wish—for all to become more aware of and knowledgeable about this terrible disease. Finally,
Kipp’s family would like to thank his many friends for being important to Kipp— you touched Kipp in ways
