GOP actions are purely selfish when it comes to vaccinations
Watching the 60 Minutes episode about 9/11 and the sacrifices made by the New York City firefighters reminded me of the selfishness of current Republican leaders whining about vaccinations and masks.
Florida’s governor has threatened fines if any local governments require vaccinations. Republican governors around the country have cried about requiring vaccinations. Ohio Republicans are pushing an antivaccination bill.
Apparently none of them are aware that the Supreme Court upheld required vaccinations more than 100 years ago.
Health care costs for unvaccinated people have cost the rest of us more than $5 billion. Children who are not eligible for vaccinations are in hospitals, where ICUS are nearing capacity. Our economy is being harmed.
What will it take for the selfish to start thinking about anyone but themselves? Unfortunately, I think I know the answer.
