Fall ushers in a favorite time of year – and Halloween
I would loathe the end of summer if it weren’t for the fact that it’s replaced with fall.
Of course, I’ll miss the flowers, vegetables, fruits and colors of the summer season.
But fall is one of my favorite times of the year: cool autumn nights with the window open; the changing of the foliage to brilliant oranges, reds and yellows; and the spectacular hues of mums.
Who can resist that? Not me. Plus, fall ushers in a fun and festive time of the year: Halloween.
Scarecrows, witches, goblins and skeletons will soon be adorning homes inside and outside.
I don’t remember decorating much as a kid, probably because we lived in the country and never had trick-or-treaters.
But as an adult, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed supplanting summertime decor with fall themes.
And even in these times of COVID, it offers a chance to give the house a refresher, even if scores of other people likely won’t be visiting again this year.
