Elizabeth Lee Shoaf née Hennick, age 79, passed away on September 24, 2021, in Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by son, Guy (Stacy) Shoaf of Oxford, MS; daughter, Amy (Tracy) Shoaf of Eugene, OR; sister, Suzanne Ruzicka of Columbus, OH; sister, Joyce (Jim) Rose-zulauf of Columbus, OH; brother, Lee (Monica) Hennick of Columbus, OH; nephew, Jason Ruzicka of Spokane, WA; niece, Anne (Don) Carney of Columbus, OH; niece, Shi Klem of Carolina Beach, NC; nephew, Chris (Stacey) Webb of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; grandchild­ren, Abby

Shoaf, Jack Shoaf, Ansley Shoaf, Hayden Hudson, Hally Hudson, and Charles Cascio, all of Oxford, MS; and her beloved cat, Bailey. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Shoaf, known to many as “Saint Ronald”. Elizabeth was born on August 21, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio, to parents George and Mary Hennick née Rennie. She had many fond memories of growing up on the West Side of Columbus among a large extended family. She graduated from West High School in 1959 and Ohio University in 1963. Ronald and Elizabeth were childhood neighbors who stayed in touch and after his return from military service in Germany married in 1963. In 1974 Ronald and Elizabeth moved to the home built by Ronald, a master carpenter, in Orient, Ohio. After both retired they divided their time between Ohio and their second home in Pinellas Park, FL. Elizabeth taught elementary school in the South-western City School

District, and was Principal of two schools. Her passion for teaching left a lasting impact on her students and fellow teachers. She made lifelong friends throughout her career and was lovingly given the nickname “Queen Beth”. After Ronald’s death, Elizabeth moved to Storypoint Senior Living Community. She continued to read on a wide variety of topics, participat­ed in book clubs, and especially enjoyed talking and visiting with her grandchild­ren. She continued her work with children, volunteeri­ng at schools and with a tutoring program through the Grove City United Methodist Church. Continuing with her generous nature, Elizabeth chose to donate her body to The Ohio State University. A Celebratio­n of Life was held September 27 at the Grove City United Methodist Church. Many causes were dear to Elizabeth’s heart; for those who wish, please make a contributi­on to the cause of your choice.
