Powell gas station sells $2M Powerball ticket

- Micah Walker

A lucky person hit the jackpot Wednesday night when five of their numbers purchased at a Powell gas station matched the numbers drawn for Powerball, resulting in a $2 million cash prize.

The Getgo gas station, located at 9590 Sawmill Parkway, sold the ticket in the Powerball drawing, the Ohio Lottery stated in a news release. The store will receive a $1,000 sales bonus.

Getgo employees said they were unable to comment on the sale of the Powerball ticket.

The ticket holder, who has not come forward yet with the winning ticket, chose their own numbers and added Power Play, matching 5-of-5 numbers without the Powerball number, according to the Ohio Lottery.

The winning numbers were: 2-7-11-1732 and Powerball 11.

This is the 59th winner of $1 million or more for Powerball’s 5-of-5 prize since 2012. The winner has 180 days from the draw date to make a claim.

The Powerball overall jackpot Wednesday was an estimated $570 million.

For Saturday’s drawing, that has grown to an estimated $620 million, which is the sixth highest Powerball jackpot ever. mwalker@dispatch.com @micah_walker701
